President's Letter
Going the Extra Mile . . .
Over the years, we have built ABA's reputation by effectively responding to the needs of our clients, no matter what the request. It's one of our core values, and a priority that permeates everything we do.
For example, back in the days when we worked in legal as well as non-legal niche markets, such as direct mail marketing, ABA provided more than eighty temporary employees for a next-day request. As our client put it at the time, ABA was "the solution to the peaks and valleys" in any business. Within the legal arena, we have also shown our responsiveness by going to extraordinary lengths to find just the right individuals for hard-to-fill jobs. For a high profile case, one of our recruiters assembled a team of barred attorneys and law/graduate students capable of doing complex document production work on a contract basis. The challenge was that these individuals also needed to perform sophisticated translation services in English, German, Italian, French, Flemish, and Swedish. Yet he staffed the job completely within just three days of the initial request. Demonstrating this kind of responsiveness to our customers is one way that ABA strives to satisfy the needs of our clients, while exceeding their expectations in the process.
To my delight, ABA recently had another opportunity to show one of our customers just how responsive we can be. On a Friday evening at closing time, Mary Arbuckle, our Director of Attorney Search, received a call from a new client asking for her help in finding a contract attorney who could begin work immediately-preferably over the upcoming weekend. Mary tracked down her most qualified candidate and arranged for a phone interview between the client and candidate on Saturday morning. Then she helped facilitate changes to the candidate's schedule so that he could begin the assignment that Sunday. As a result, the client met his deadline, the candidate got a great job, and ABA showed that we'll do whatever it takes to help our customers address even their most challenging hiring needs.
As Roger Staubach (former NFL quarterback and businessman) said, "There are no traffic jams along the extra mile." For those of you we've worked with in the past, hopefully you've seen our responsiveness in action. For those of you we haven't yet worked with, we look forward to proving ourselves to you by going the extra mile on your behalf.
Respectfully,
Valli F. Farmaian
